Campus Safety and Security
The NCHCOM (the “COM”) is committed to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment that supports learning, teaching, research, and community engagement. Campus safety is a shared responsibility among students, faculty, staff, visitors, and institutional leadership.
As the COM prepares to welcome its inaugural class in July 2028, comprehensive safety, security, and emergency preparedness programs are being developed in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies. These programs will continue to evolve as the COM grows and will be regularly reviewed to promote continuous improvement.
Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act
The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act is a federal law that requires institutions of higher education to collect, maintain, and disclose information regarding certain criminal incidents occurring within designated campus geography, as well as to publish an Annual Security Report. The COM will comply with all applicable requirements of the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act and relevant Florida laws governing campus safety and security.
Availability of Campus Safety Resources
The COM campus is anticipated to open for faculty and staff in January 2028, with the inaugural class anticipated to matriculate in July 2028.

Security Policies
The COM is developing policies and procedures addressing, at a minimum:
- Campus access and security
- Emergency response and evacuation
- Timely warnings and emergency notifications
- Crime reporting procedures
- Fire safety (as applicable)
- Behavioral intervention and threat assessment
- Sexual misconduct prevention and response
- Violence prevention
- Student and employee safety resources

Commitment to Continuous Improvement
The COM recognizes that campus safety is an ongoing institutional responsibility. Policies, procedures, training programs, and reporting mechanisms will be reviewed regularly to support a safe learning environment and to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws, accreditation standards, and institutional priorities.
